
In 2000 Chef-Proprietors Will Dodson & Ruth Schimmelpfennig fell in love with Vermont and purchased the the Barnard Inn, a 1796 chateau nestled amongst rolling hills, dairy and organic farms, and maple trees. The pair had previously owned and operated two successful restaurants in San Francisco; Frascati and Élan Vital. Married in 1999 they longed for a more serene country setting. Their search brought them to beautiful Barnard, Vermont.
